A Poem translated by Mr. ENARO(ENARO의 새 해 첫 소풍날에)

 

새해 첫 소풍날에

이 밤 다 가기 전에

바다를 헤쳐 솟아오는 해를 보러 가리라

사랑하는 사람들 잠든 세월을 깨워

저마다 젊은 파랑새 한 마리씩 짝을 지어

짙은 어둠 토해버릴 해를 맞으러 가리라

아픈 자의 병상에 빛을,

가난한 자의 심장에 불을,

고독한 자의 눈에 소망을,

교만한 자의 가슴에 믿음을 잉태시키던

삼백 육십 오일 그 붉었던 사랑을

삼백 육십 오일 늘 푸를 사랑에게 바치는

太初 그 거룩한 의식을 하얀 맨살로 품으리라

바라보는 눈길 하나 하나에

등돌렸던 아픔 가닥 가닥 담고

내쉬는 숨결 한 올 한 올에 

들이쉰 생명 모락 모락 피워 내어

숙이는 고개 마디 마디

나 아닌 나를 채우리라

내가 아닌 너를 채우리라

오늘은, 어제의 거울 그 자체로 하여

아름답고,

오늘은, 내일의 마음 그 자체로 하여

풍요로운 새해의 첫 소풍날,

사랑하는 사람들 손에 손잡고

어둠 삭혀 마시며 해맞이 가는 날.

On the First Excursion Day of a New Year

Before the tinge of this night disappears totally,

I'll go to see the rising sun through the sea.

I'll wake up the sleeping time and tide of my loved people,

And make them follow their each young blue bird, their good mate,

Going to meet the sun which vomits a thick darkness.

Having thrown the light onto the bed where the sick are lying,

Having made fire into the heart which the poor keep,

Having planted hope in the eyes which the lonely have,

Having put belief into the chest which the arrogant bear,

That red love of the sun having blazed up all 365 days long,

It will deliver its great calling to the love which is to be green all 365 days long.

I'll worship the holy ceremony with my white body bared.

Whenever I stare at every direction,

I'll put all the sufferings of people I turned back into my eyes.

Whenever I exhale every breath,

I'll plant every life I inhaled deep in my heart.

Whenever I lower my head,

I'll fill my mind with my future self, not my past self.

I'll fill my soul with you, not me.

Thanks to yesterday's mirror itself,

Today is beautiful.

Thanks to the expectation itself toward tomorrow,

Today is the first excursion day of a rich new year.

Hand in hand with all loving people,

To turn the dirty air of past into the fresh one

I'll go to see the rising sun.
