   PARTING

                in the An-myeon Do

                          written by Park In-suk

Since that day

we were no longer onE.

From the start

our fairy tale was not in good harmony.

Outside, the autumn rain was falling,

and into an opening of loose windows

a bleak wind was blowing.

I recollect that day we met each other for the first time.

Just like this moment

'A wet wind now and then would make the candlelight shake

and our hands put together got wet with sweat'

Yes, we were in the same place.

Still, you were staring at your way

and I was staring at my way.

As if the wind touched and left us,

we met without any shared purpose,

and soon we turned away against each other.

A white sand field of An-myeon-do turned red.

Even a cold rain was beating our heart.

You loved only yourself

and I loved only myself.

We couldn't be onE any longer.

In the distance a seagull was flying shedding tears.
